AI categorizes by default
Every incoming transaction gets a suggested category, vendor, and (where applicable) class or project. Confidence varies — Imprest shows you why it picked what it picked.
One-keystroke approve
Confirmed transactions move from "Suggested" to "Posted" with a single keystroke. Bulk-approve everything in a batch if you're comfortable with the suggestions.
Rules that learn
When you correct a suggestion, Imprest remembers. The next time a transaction matches the same pattern, the AI picks your correction instead of its default.
Multi-match
Handles the messy real-world cases.
- One transaction → multiple invoices. A customer pays $5,000 covering three invoices; the deposit splits across all three.
- Multiple transactions → one invoice. A customer pays in installments; the invoice gets marked paid only when fully covered.
- Partial matches. A $500 payment against a $750 invoice leaves a $250 remaining balance; the invoice stays open.
- Manual override. When the AI guesses wrong, drag-and-drop or keyboard-navigate to the right match.
Reconciliation
End-of-period without the dread.
- Statement upload or fetch. Upload a bank statement (PDF or CSV) or pull it from connected services where available.
- Imprest matches. The matching engine reconciles statement lines against posted transactions automatically.
- Difference indicator. A running difference shows how far off you are at any moment.
- Completion. When difference is below $0.01, reconciliation locks.
