The three questions you ask every week

Answered before you have to ask.

Cash, customers, and bills — the three things that decide whether this week is fine or stressful.

01

How much cash do I have?

Imprest reconciles your bank feed daily, so the number on your dashboard is the number in your account. No "this is from last Friday" disclaimers.

02

Who hasn't paid me?

A/R aging is live. Reminders go out on the schedule you set. Imprest tells you which customer is your problem this week — and sends the email itself.

03

What's about to come out?

Recurring bills, payroll, sales tax — Imprest knows what hits the account and when. You see the next 30 days before they happen, not after.

How the day actually goes

Three steps. That's the whole job.

You don't manage the books. You glance at them.

Morning

Read the briefing

One screen. Cash, what came in overnight, what needs a yes-or-no from you. Two minutes with coffee.

When something happens

Forward the email

Vendor bill, receipt, customer payment — forward to your Imprest inbox. It reads, drafts, and queues. You don't have to log in.

Friday

Tap to approve

A short list of "Imprest isn't 100% sure — is this right?" items. Tap through them in three minutes. Done.

What it actually saves you

The numbers, in small-business terms.

~5 hrs

a week, back

Owner-time saved vs the QuickBooks baseline. Five hours of "Saturday morning at the kitchen table" you stop spending.

9 days

faster on A/R collection

Median improvement on days-to-pay after Imprest's automated reminders take over.

$0

to migrate from QuickBooks

Full history, parallel run for 30 days, your accountant kept in the loop. We don't charge for the switch — it's where most of the value comes from.

From the owners using it

How it feels when the books just keep up.

"I open Imprest once a day, see I'm fine, close it. That's the whole interaction. The Saturday-night kitchen-table thing? Gone."

"My A/R collection is 11 days faster than it was on QuickBooks — and I didn't have to learn anything. Imprest just sends the reminders."

"My accountant said the books were the cleanest he'd seen for tax season. I did nothing. That's the part that floored me."

The accountant fit

Your accountant can work here too.

No new per-seat charge, no separate "Accountant Edition," no QuickBooks-style invite-and-pray ritual. They sign in with their own login and see your books — clean.

What your accountant gets

Books that don't need a cleanup pass.

The reason most year-end accountant bills are so high is the cleanup. Imprest's books arrive ready.

  • Reconciled bank + credit card feeds
  • Categorized transactions with rules they can override
  • Closed-month locks they control
  • Audit trail on every entry, AI or human
What you get

A cheaper, less frustrating accountant.

Their hourly bill goes down because the cleanup work is gone. Tax season is a review, not a reconstruction.

  • Lower year-end bill (less hours billed)
  • No mid-year "wait, why did you categorize that as X?" emails
  • Accountant can answer your questions instantly because the books are current
  • Quarterly tax planning becomes possible because the data is real

Who built this

From the team that built QuickBooks.

We came out of the Intuit small-business org. We spent a decade watching one truth: accounting software ages. We built Imprest to be the one you can live in for the next decade — not the one you migrate off of.

Honest answers

What small business owners ask first.

Can I keep my accountant?

Yes — and they'll like it. Your accountant signs in with their own login, sees your books in their own view, and doesn't pay for the seat. No "QuickBooks Accountant" license dance.

What if my books on QuickBooks are a mess?

Imprest's migration imports your full history. Anything that's already messy stays messy in the import — but the AI can flag it as you go. Most owners take the "30-day parallel run" trial to see their books in two systems side by side before fully switching.

Will the AI mess up my books?

No — because the AI doesn't post anything to your books without your nod. It drafts. You approve. Every action, AI or human, is in the same audit log. And you can reverse anything.

What about tax time?

Imprest exports clean books in the format your accountant wants — QBO file, IIF, or direct sync. Most owners hand off in under 10 minutes vs the multi-week back-and-forth they used to have.

I'm not an accountant. Will I understand it?

Yes. The whole product is owner-facing first — accountant features are there but tucked away until you need them. The main screens use plain English ("Cash today", "Customers who owe you") instead of accounting jargon.

What does it cost?

Starter is $15/month, Pro is $35/month, Scaling is $100/month — all billed annually. Pro and Scaling include unlimited users. Starter is for solo operators (you + your accountant — 2 seats). Pro alone gives you everything QuickBooks Plus charges $140/mo for. Free for 30 days, no credit card.
